Goldin Peiser & Peiser, LLP (GPP) is proud to announce the addition of Jessica Cowan, Phaedra Fouts, Zach Hefton, Karen Herklotz, Nithya Ramesh, Allisa Smith, and Alita Stratton to its professional team.

Cowan joins GPP as an assurance associate in the audit department. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2015 and a Master of Science in Accounting in 2017. Born in Kansas but raised in Texas, Cowan is currently a resident of Arlington, Texas.
As a tax associate, Fouts assists clients in a variety of industries with tax filing and consulting services. She graduated summa cum laude from Oral Roberts University in 2017, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Accounting; she was a Whole Person Scholar and an AICPA Legacy Scholar. Born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma, Fouts currently resides in Plano, Texas.
Hefton serves as a tax associate, performing work for clients in a variety of industries, including real estate, high net worth individuals, construction, and oil & gas. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Texas in 2016 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Accounting at the University of Texas at Dallas. Born and raised in Sherman, Texas, Hefton currently resides in Plano with his wife, Morgan.
Karen joins GPP as a senior tax manager, and specializes in high net worth individual taxation, fiduciary taxation, and family office management. Previous to her work at GPP, Karen spent twenty years as a vice president and tax director where she hired, trained, and managed personnel. She was also responsible for tax compliance and planning functions for the privately-owned business.
Ramesh joins GPP as an assurance associate and specializes in performing company audits. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Christ College in Bangalore, India, from which she graduated in 2010. Ramesh was born and raised in Bangalore and moved to Dallas with her husband in 2016.
As a senior in the assurance department, Smith’s responsibilities include providing audits, reviews, and compilations to the firm’s clients. She graduated from Midwestern State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting then went on to earn her Master of Science in Accounting from Texas A&M University – Commerce in 2016. Born and raised on the island of Dominica, Smith currently resides in Addison, Texas with her husband, Terrance.
Stratton joins the GPP team as a senior in the accounting department; she was brought on with the goal of expanding the firm’s CFO Advisory Service offerings. She graduated from New Mexico Junior College with an Associate of Applied Science in 1995, then went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of the Southwest in 1998. Born and raised in Hobbs, a small town in southeastern New Mexico, Stratton now resides in Dallas.
