Goldin Peiser & Peiser, LLP (GPP) is pleased to announce that Julie Venegas, CPA, has been appointed to the Planning Committee for the TSCPA’s 2012 Texas State Taxation Conference. The conference will be held in Houston, August 13-14, 2012.
“I am excited to be able to serve on the board of such an important organization,” says Venegas. “It’s our job as CPAs to stay up-to-date on the changing tax laws, which is why this conference is so beneficial.”
As the firm’s state and local tax (SALT) expert, Venegas has been planning and preparing tax returns for GPP clients since joining the firm in 2009. She is especially knowledgeable in the areas of Texas franchise taxes and Texas sales and use taxes. Venegas received her Masters in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas and Bachelor of Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University. She is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT). She is also treasurer of the Borchardt Elementary PTA.
The TSCPA Texas State Taxation Conference is held annually to prepare professionals for changes in state tax law and to gain insight on Texas’ biggest tax issues. The 1 ½ day conference offers Texas CPAs comprehensive information in a variety of areas so they are better able to assist their clients during tax season.
