Debbie Ames, PHR
Debbie joined Goldin Peiser & Peiser in 2011 as the director of business development and was responsible for connecting with potential clients, and building and maintaining strategic partnerships. In 2014 Debbie transitioned to the director of human resources where she is responsible for recruiting and hiring new employees, working with current employees on their professional development, and coordinating with Goldin Peiser & Peiser partners on organization strategies. Debbie was instrumental in developing and executing the GPP Path to Partner program and plays an important role in helping advance the mission, vision, and strategy of the firm.
Jessica Cowan, CPA
Jessica joined Goldin Peiser & Peiser, LLP in 2017 as an assurance associate in the audit department. She specializes in performing audits of manufacturing companies and the accompanying 401(k)s, as well as in providing audits, reviews, and agreed upon procedures audits for nonprofits. She previously served as an audit associate at Sutton Frost Cary, LLP. From a young age it was necessary for Jessica to learn to function independently. As a result of this, she developed into a motivated, reliable, and diligent person—attributes which contribute to her success as a professional in the accounting industry.
Yekaterina, originally from Minsk, Belarus via New York, joined Goldin Peiser & Peiser in 2017 as an associate in the accounting department. Her main areas of focus are in healthcare and family offices. She performs general ledger duties such as month-end processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and other general accounting services. She attributes her resourcefulness, hard work, and determination to her experiences immigrating to the United States at the age of seventeen. She was inspired to pursue accounting due to her love of numbers and problem solving.
Phaedra joined the Goldin Peiser & Peiser, LLP team in 2017 as a tax associate. She serves clients in a variety of industries by assisting with tax preparation, filing and consulting services. Phaedra attributes her success in the accounting industry to her diligence and a strong desire to learn and improve. Her colleagues describe her as persistent. She was inspired to pursue a career in the field of accounting by her love for problem solving and using her skills to provide value to others.
Sharon Hess, CPA
Sharon joined Goldin Peiser & Peiser, LLP in 2003. Her current responsibilities includes she developing compilations for a variety of industries, including healthcare, high net worth, legal, retail and service. She also prepares payroll and payroll tax returns, sales tax returns and bills for her clients. In addition, she assists several clients with their QuickBooks operations and does the accounting work for family limited partnerships and retirement plans. Sharon’s love for accounting developed while performing bookkeeping tasks at a former job with a local school district. This led her back to college to obtain her degree in accounting.
Cynthia has worked at Goldin Peiser & Peiser, LLP since 2015 in the accounting department. With over 25 years in the accounting profession, she has extensive knowledge in the areas of fixed assets and general ledger. Cynthia is the go-to professional when it comes to Sage FAS 100 and 500, and has a solid working knowledge of various general ledger systems. Described by peers as knowledgeable and innovative, Cynthia feels her strong organizational abilities and refined analytical experience help make her a successful member of the team.
Yan Jiang, CPA
Yan joined Goldin Peiser & Peiser in 2018 as a tax intern and was then hired as a tax associate at the conclusion of her internship. Her area of concentration is working on tax returns and tax planning for high net worth and real estate clients. She moved to the United States at age sixteen from China, with no knowledge of the English language. Her determination to succeed served her well, overcoming the language barrier and getting her BS and MS in Accounting and Taxation from the University of North Texas and her CPA certification. Her motto is: Today's accomplishments were yesterday's impossibilities.
Eric Olsen, CPA
Eric joined Goldin Peiser & Peiser in 2010 as a senior tax associate and moved up the rank to tax manager and then senior tax manager. He is the second graduate of GPP's path to partner program to become a partner. In addition to his many client responsibilities, he supervises tax staff, participates in the running and development of the tax department and, as a partner, will have a direct role in the strategic direction of the firm. Eric's areas of concentration are in high net worth, family offices and real estate. Eric is respected among his colleagues for his attention to detail, follow-through, client management, and ability to work as part of a team.
